Language and emotions

What makes a human being? Answers will vary. But what we all do – is: we feel. Our emotions act as reactions to the external or internal worlds and how we engage with them will shape the quality and reality of our life.

Emotions arise all the time, and if you don’t master of them, they become a master of you. To cultivate the distance between you and your emotional state – in this first episode I decided to mention another tool of our human nature: language.

How you talk about your emotional state will also help or hinder your ability to experience them. Language is an imperfect tool for communication, but it’s a tool you have. So how you talk about your emotions will shine some light on how you relate to them. And then, perhaps, enable you to master them a little bit better.

In this episode I also share an invaluable insight about E-prime – a version of English language that doesn’t contain a verb “to be” – as a way to introduce space and distance necessary to be the observer of your emotions.

Emotions are going to be covered extensively in this podcast – for this is one of the prominent “features” of our human experience…
