Wisdom of your body

I had to unpeel and discover connection to my body over the last few years. Picking it up from the layers and layers of suppressed anger and sadness – from under the rubble of numbing myself through food, smoking weed to name a few. if only I knew how EASY it actually is to let my body feel all those emotions and sensations that were coming up. It took time and practice to build trust that meeting my body feel those feelings – are not going to destroy me.

When you let you body feel those unpleasant shaking sensations of anger, or let the sadness flow out of you in the form of tears – you let those emotions flow. You don’t build up a dam that would take months – or years – to dismantle.

One of the most astonishing takeaways from learning to feel the difficult stuff… is that your body learns how to feel the emotions of joy, happiness and love – stronger, more fully.

So, in this episode, my guest Stephanie Kittell, founder of Rise & Thrive, a holistic embodiment wellness guide talks about how your body has the innate wisdom to self-regulate, and with certain practices and techniques it can help you feel simply more alive.

Stephanie and I met during cacao facilitator training at Lava Love Cacao near Lake Atitlan, Guatemala in September 2023. Even before I spoke to her, I observed that throughout the course she would often move her body in these dance-like flowing movements. It looked graceful, peaceful and most importantly it looked like a language her body was speaking.

Stephanie shares helpful tips and practices you can use to help you feel and release emotions and feelings. It was also a fun conversation in her beautiful house up the mountain in Tzununa, Guatemala.

Enjoy and let me know your thoughts on the topic of somatic work.
